Short description
Based on ongoing collaboration between Zagreb County and REGEA on preparation of project documentation for energy retrofits of public buildings (under jurisdiction of Zagreb County), both sides organized a technical meeting with design offices Inovapro and Kapov who are in charge of development all necessary documentation according to current legislation. As the first concept of the energy retrofis were created, REGEA prepared a short analysis of proposed solution and introduced a knowledge from CSSC Lab which is relevant for decision making on integration of different type of termotechnical systems. Based on proposed solutions, Zagreb County and REGEA identified main gaps in the concept (i.e. usage of Ngas boilers, missing PV panels, missing EV charger) and intervened with a set of measures that have to be included. As Zagreb County is the investor and demanded to integrate CSSC technogies in this public building, design offices agreeed to include PV systems, heat pums water-air and air-air, as well as 3x stations (6 chargers) in total. This energy retrofit project will be applied for co-funding through the National Recovery and Resilience Programme in Croatia.

Short description
The meeting and advanced training in Pluhův Žďár had two primary functions. Firstly, we managed to bring together most of the representatives of the local action groups on the basis of communication with the network of local action groups and thus had the opportunity to coordinate the current needs of the municipal sphere in the field of energy. Secondly, this meeting was used to present the training methodology for municipalities, which was adapted to the current conditions by the Czech partner of the CSSC Lab project. This consists in particular in the fact that representatives of the selected pilot municipalities (Lomnice nad Lužnicí, Volary, Přídolí and Nové Hrady) are given an initial training and then the specific technical and economic characteristics of the existing buildings are identified. On the basis of this research, specific technological solutions are then proposed to achieve savings and long-term sustainability of the measures. In this session, we focused on introducing the general principles of CSSC solutions, presenting the current technological options and the legislative framework to the participants. For the second part of the advanced training, the structure and topics were agreed.

City Coaching session #2
Date 6/9/2022
Type of event Face to face
Place/Location Stegersbach
Number of participants 16
Short description
At the beginning of June, representatives of South Bohemian municipalities had the opportunity to visit the brand new demonstration centre for the use of renewable energy sources in Stegersbach, Austria. A few hours away, the village in southern Austria is a popular centre for active recreation. The local hotels attract visitors with thermal baths and landscaped golf courses. Now the village of nearly three thousand also has a new technical attraction – a building called solar.one, which is interesting not only for its novel and modern architecture, but also for its technical design and its mission to be an educational and demonstration centre for the use of solar energy. A delegation of eighteen mayors, representatives of Local Action Groups and other interested parties had the opportunity to have a detailed tour of the centre, which is built as a so-called Plus Energy Building, i.e. a building that produces more energy than it consumes for its operation. It generates both electrical and thermal energy not only from rooftop photovoltaic panels, but also from cells in the windows and glass walls. The electricity is used for sector coupling for e-mobility (charging e-vehicles) whereas power2heat will be coupled, utilising the activated building core (heat exchanger system). The building is also equipped with monitoring equipment (temperature and presence monitoring) as well as a load and flexibility management software to ensure all processes run smoothly and are coordinated. The advantage of this centre is the possibility to see various technologies from different manufacturers in live operation and to directly compare their technical parameters, advantages and disadvantages. The aim of solar.one is to highlight new ways of using locally produced energy, how it can be shared, managed and ultimately saved.
